About Me

Bill Rempt
I consider myself an easy person to get along with. I love to be in the outdoors doing a number of different things, from snowmobiling, fishing, hunting and camping. I served in the Marines from 1982-1986. I was an M-60 machinegunner for the first 2 years at Camp Lejuene, NC. Then I was transferred to 29 Palms, CA. to work with Light Armored Vehicles(LAV's). It was quite interesting taking a 14 ton armored vehicle to it's limit. After getting out of the Marines for 2 years, I then enlisted in the Navy as a Radioman onboard the USS LEAHY CG-16. part of my job consisted of going aloft on the masts to do maintenance on all antennas. I saw different countries, such as Phillipines, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, United Arab Emarites, and also went to the Persian Gulf during the Desert Storm War. I served in the Navy from 1989-1993. After my enlistment was over, I remained in the Reserves for 2 more years as a Seabee doing construction. I stayed in until medical issues forced me to get out. I had a bout with cancer in 1996, and so far it remains in remission. But I still keep very active in my life. Life is too short to let anything keep me down.
